Take a quick visual tour of this campo installation. In this clip, Simon walks through the plant room we created to show how the automated self-cleaning filters, structured copper lines and non-electric twin-tank softener fit together.

Living in the rural Almería countryside brings incredible views and space. But it also means dealing with unpredictable utilities. Properties out in the campo rarely get consistent mains water. Instead they often rely on irregular community networks, deep local wells or agricultural supplies that carry heavy dirt and minerals. This is exactly why a standard plumbing setup fails out here.

We recently took on a project for a large country villa. The owner was frustrated with changing standard filters every few weeks and watching scale ruin the home's infrastructure. They needed a robust solution. Because we operate strictly as water quality specialists rather than general plumbers, we did not just sell them a generic unit from a catalogue. We designed a system specifically for their water profile.

The Actual Problem: Heavy Dirt and Destructive Scale

Rural supplies in southern Spain drop in quality without warning. Heavy winter rain or local agricultural pumping stirs up deep sediment. This sand and grit quickly chokes standard domestic filter cartridges. Once the filter blocks, your water pressure drops to a trickle.

At the same time severe hard water in Almería destroys appliances behind the scenes.

Calcium and magnesium build up fast inside water heaters and solar panels. This scale creates an insulating barrier over heating elements. Your systems have to work twice as hard to produce hot water, driving up electricity bills before the appliances ultimately burn out and crack.

The Practical Engineering: Step by Step

Our work always starts with analysis. We never supply or install equipment until we know exactly what is in the supply. After executing our free 24-point water test to verify the mineral weights and sediment levels, we mapped out a multi-stage layout to be housed in a purpose-built plant room, which our building partner, Nathario, created in a rustic style sympathetic to the main building which is several hundred years old.

1. Automatic Sediment Removal

First we had to stop heavy sand and grit from reaching the fine internal mechanisms.

We installed a Hydra Auto Wash Filter right where the main pipe enters the building.

This easy-clean unit uses an integrated pressure sensor to flush away trapped dirt automatically.

Directly after this we fitted a secondary 20 micron Sediment Filter  inside a heavy blue housing to catch fine floating particles. The water is now perfectly clear before it hits the treatment stages.

2. Continuous Softening Without Electricity

With the grit removed the water enters the main treatment phase. To handle a large country house we chose a commercial-grade all-of-house water softening system using the Kinetico S250XP.

Most cheap single-tank softeners run on electricity and timers. They have to shut down for hours at night to clean themselves, letting hard water bypass into your home during that time.

This premium Kinetico system uses twin tanks and operates entirely on water pressure.

While one tank is busy softening your water, the other is ready to take over instantly.

You get soft water continuously without a single drop in pressure.

3. Heavy-Duty Pipework and Isolation Controls

High water pressure in the campo requires rigid infrastructure. We pulled out the existing flimsy flexible lines and built a new manifold using secure new copper pipework fixed straight to the stone walls. This layout eliminates pipe vibration and prevents leaks under sudden pressure spikes from the street supply.

We then built in complete operational control for the owner using specific isolation valves.

We installed heavy lever lines directly on the stainless braided feeds via the water softener service valves.

Alongside this a premium Genebre 3-way selector valve was integrated directly into the copper loop.

If the homeowner ever wants to isolate a single filter or bypass the entire system for routine servicing they can do it in three seconds with a quick turn of a handle. No tools are needed.

The Result: Reliable Protection

The finished installation fits perfectly inside the rustic landscape. As you can see from the finished side view, the machinery sits safe inside a traditional stone outbuilding. The home now has complete defence against scale and dirt.

We handle the entire process from initial diagnostic testing to installation and scheduled follow-up care. We do not use third-party fitters or sell blind solutions over the counter.

If you want to fix your supply properly, we are your dedicated water filtration company in Almería. We can address everything from scale protection to pure domestic drinking water filtration systems.
